"Britney/Brittany" is the second episode of the second season of the American television series Glee, and the twenty-fourth episode overall. The episode premiered on the Fox network on September 28, 2010. Written and directed by series creator Ryan Murphy, it pays tribute to Britney Spears, and focuses on glee club member Brittany (Heather Morris). Spears herself made a cameo, appearing in several anesthesia-induced dream sequences.When glee club director Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) attempts to set New Directions an easy listening adult contemporary assignment, Kurt (Chris Colfer) informs them there is a Facebook group petitioning the club to perform a Britney Spears number at the McKinley High homecoming assembly. Will refuses, stating that Spears is a bad role-model. He is supported by club member Brittany, who reveals that her full name is Brittany Susan Pierce and as such she has always been dismayed that she will never be as successful as the similarly-named pop star.

Will discusses Spears with school guidance counselor Emma Pillsbury (Jayma Mays). While in her office, he meets her new boyfriend, Dr. Carl Howell (John Stamos). Carl is a dentist, and offers to talk to the glee club about dental hygiene. A plaque test reveals that Brittany, Rachel (Lea Michele) and Artie (Kevin McHale) all require dental work. When Brittany is put under general anesthesia so Carl can fill her cavities, she experiences a hallucination in which she performs Spears' "I'm a Slave 4 U". She later returns to Carl's practice with her friend Santana (Naya Rivera) and they share a hallucination in which they duet on "Me Against the Music", where Spears herself appears. Brittany feels empowered by the encounter, and begins to act more assertively in glee club.

Elsewhere, Rachel feels threatened by her boyfriend Finn's (Cory Monteith) desire to re-join the school football team, fearing that their relationship will not work if he becomes popular again. After visiting the dentist and experiencing her own hallucination, in which she performs "...Baby One More Time", Rachel begins dressing more provocatively. Her new look is received positively, and cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) finds school blogger Jacob Ben Israel (Josh Sussman) masturbating to Rachel's image in the library. Rachel relents and encourages Finn to re-join the team. Artie's dental visit results in a hallucination of "Stronger" in which he is also a member of the football team. Coach Beiste (Dot Jones) accepts both Finn and Artie, despite the fact Artie is in a wheelchair. Rachel becomes jealous of the attention Finn is receiving now he is back on the team, and has his ex-girlfriend Quinn (Dianna Agron) attempt to seduce him. She is relieved when Finn turns Quinn down, and sings Paramore's "The Only Exception" to him in apology.

Advised by Emma to relax more, Will learns that Carl recently purchased a new Chevrolet Corvette and buys one for himself. He is confronted by his ex-wife Terri (Jessalyn Gilsig), who insists that he return it and cease wasting their savings. Seeing the positive effect Spears has had on the glee club members, Will relents and allows them to perform a Bob Fosse-inspired rendition of "Toxic" at the homecoming assembly, joining them on stage in an effort to impress Emma. When multiple students become sexually aroused by the performance, Sue sets off the fire alarm and has the student body evacuate the auditorium. Emma tells Will to stop trying to be someone he is not. He returns his new car, and tells the club they will not be performing any more Spears numbers.

Stargate Universe (often abbreviated as SGU) is an American - Canadian military science fiction television series and part of MGM's Stargate franchise. Detroit 1-8-7 has an average score of 64/100 on Metacritic based on 20 reviews from television critics.[7] Robert Bianco of USA Today describes the series as the best police drama on ABC since NYPD Blue ended. Bianco says the show's best trait is its uncommon setting and that it is filmed where it is set, "which gives it an authenticity and a palpable sense of place."[8] The New York Times's television critc Alessandra Stanley said the show is "a throwback to an earlier era of cop shows when steel-edged realism was still novel and there was a thrill to watching terse, streetwise detectives on shows like Dragnet and Kojak cajole witnesses and browbeat suspects."[9]
Rob Owen, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette found Detroit 1-8-7 brings nothing new to the police procedural genre but that it does offer strong performances from its cast. Owen further said that the drama is disappointingly generic, but expected it to appeal to die-hard fans of the genre.[10] In his review of new shows for autumn 2010 Hank Stuever of the Washington Post gives Detroit 1-8-7 a grade of D+ and says "nothing to see here."[11] John Doyle of The Globe and Mail called Detroit 1-8-7 "a too-conventional cop show."[12]
Many critics point out that the ghost remnants of the show's original premise as a mockumentary can be found throughout the first episode.[13][14][8][10]
John Roach, former Detroit Police Department spokesman, in speaking of the first episode, said, "I think the show portrayed Detroit's police officers as real people, dedicated, even heroic, which is entirely deserved."

The storyline focuses on Alicia Florrick (Juliana Margulies), the wife of Peter Florrick (Chris Noth). Peter, a former Chicago state's attorney, has been jailed following a very public sex and corruption scandal. Michelle [King]: We came up with the idea about a year and half ago. There had been this waterfall of these kinds of scandals, from Bill and Hillary [Clinton], to Dick Morris, to Eliot Spitzer, to name just a few. I think they're all over our culture. And there was always this image of the husband up there apologizing and the wife standing next to him. I think the show began when we asked, "What are they thinking?" And Robert and I started talking about it from there. ... You know, what's interesting about a lot of these political scandals is that the women are lawyers, too. Hillary [Clinton] is a lawyer. Elizabeth Edwards is a lawyer. I think that got us thinking along those lines. That is, we knew she had to go back to work, and we had so many female lawyers to draw on.

Gil Buckman (Steve Martin), a neurotic sales executive, is trying to balance a family in suburban St. Louis and his career. He wants to be an active father, rather than the distant workaholic that his own father was.
When he finds out that his eldest son, Kevin, has emotional problems and in the opinion of the school psychologist needs therapy, and also that his two younger children both have minor issues as well, Gil begins to blame himself and deeply question his abilities as a father. In addition his wife Karen (Mary Steenburgen) becomes pregnant with their fourth child, which he is unsure he can handle.
He is frustrated and fearful that the financial burdens of another child and office politics at work, which include a manager who is blatantly dishonest and manipulative, are turning him into the detached workaholic he despised his own father for being. This comes to a head near the end of the film, when his father comes to Gil for advice on how to deal with Larry (Gil's wayward brother) and says bluntly that he is asking Gil's advice because he knows Gil always thought he was a lousy father and becaue he also knows that Gil is a good father. Gil, who has been humbled by his children's issues and his own issues at work, opens up about his self doubts as a parent. His father tries to reassure him in a casual way by telling him that he worries too much, and the two have a reconciliation of sorts. Throughout the movie, Gil tries to lighten up more and be less fearful of the surprises he encounters in life and this has a good effect on Kevin, whose emotional problems begin to recede.
His sister Helen (Dianne Wiest) is a divorced bank manager and her dentist ex-husband is not involved with their children, Garry and Julie. He has a new wife and young son to whom he is very devoted and wants nothing to do with Garry or Julie. At first, Garry (Leaf Phoenix), who has just entered puberty, appears to be a very disturbed boy. He is quiet, uninvolved, and likes to be alone in his room with a mysterious paper bag. At first Helen worries that the bag contains drugs or alcohol, but the bag was actually filled with porn that he would masturbate to in his room.

The title of the series, "Sister Wives", refers to a concept prevalent in Mormon fundamentalism that the wives in a plural marriage not only marry the husband, but are eternally united to each other.[5] For years prior to the series, the family kept their polygamist lifestyle what they called a "quasi-secret".[2] Both Kody Brown and his wives have claimed part of the reason they are participating in Sister Wives is to make the public more aware of polygamist families and to combat societal prejudices often associated with polygamy.

After waking, Combo informs Shaun and Smell that his mother is dying. Shaun takes him to see his mother, but when they get there they discover she has already died. Combo says goodbye to his mother's body. Meanwhile, Milky teases Woody about the fact that he left Lol at the altar. In response, Woody tells him they will get married that day. Woody and Milky go around inviting all their friends to their wedding, which is going to be a surprise to Lol.
After much deliberation, Trev tells Lol that she was raped by Mick. Lol tells her go to sleep. She then goes to Mick's house, armed with a hammer to confront him. The pair verbally argue. Lol shows Mick the hammer which causes him to attack her. He pulls off her underwear and attempts to rape her, with Lol violently struggling. Lol defends herself by swinging the hammer against Mick's head several times which kills him. Combo then arrives at the house, finding the scene of Mick dead and Lol sobbing. Combo decides to 'do something good' and takes responsibility for killing Mick. The episode ends with Combo arriving in prison, after being charged with manslaughter. Most of the cast sit in the pubwatch the England v Argentina world cup game, which England go on to lose. Meanwhile, Lol, Kelly, Trev, Milky and Woody sit alone together, listening to solemn music on the radio whilst playing cards. Kelly cries and Woody and Lol kiss as Combo peacefully enters his cell.

Ichigo Kurosaki is a teenager gifted with the ability to see spirits. His life is drastically changed by the sudden appearance of a Soul Reaper (死神 Shinigami?, literally, "Death god") - one who governs the flow of souls between the human world and the afterlife - named Rukia Kuchiki, who arrives in search of a Hollow, a dangerous lost soul. When Rukia is severely wounded while trying to defeat the Hollow, she attempts to transfer half of her reiatsu (霊圧?, literally, "spiritual pressure") energy to Ichigo so that he can defeat the Hollow. However, Ichigo takes almost all of her energy, transforming into a Soul Reaper and allowing him to defeat the Hollow with ease. With her powers diminished, Rukia is left stranded in the human world until she can recover her strength. In the meantime, Ichigo must take over Rukia's role as a Soul Reaper, battling Hollows and guiding souls to the afterlife realm known as the Soul Society (尸魂界 (ソウル·ソサエティ) Sōru Sosaeti?).
As time passes and Rukia has yet to return to the Soul Society, her Soul Reaper superiors learn about her whereabouts and actions and sentence her to death for performing the illegal act of transferring her powers. Although he is unable to stop Rukia's departure to the Soul Society, Ichigo resolves to rescue her with the aid of several of his spiritually aware classmates, Yoruichi Shihōin, and ex-Soul Reaper Kisuke Urahara. Once at the Soul Society, Ichigo and company battle against the elites of the Soul Reaper military and strive to reach Rukia before her execution.
It is revealed that both Rukia's execution and Ichigo's rescue attempt were manipulated by Sōsuke Aizen, a high-ranking Soul Reaper previously believed to have been murdered, as part of a far-reaching plot to take control of the Soul Society. Aizen betrays his fellow Soul Reapers and allies himself with the strongest of the Hollows, the Espadas - the elite few of the Arrancars. Aizen thus becomes the main antagonist of the series and the Soul Reapers form an alliance with Ichigo. At this point, Bleach chronicles the war between the Soul Reapers and Aizen, who intends to garner souls from Ichigo's hometown in order to create the Ôken, a device able to open a portal to the location of the king of the Soul Society.
The plotline has yet to be resolved, and, according an interview with Tite Kubo in 2008, the ending of the series had not been planned out or written in advance.

More4 was the first international broadcaster to syndicate entire Daily Show episodes, though they may make edits to the program due to content, language, length or commercial references. The program is also available to watch via the internet video on demand service 4oD. However, the 'toss' to The Colbert Report is usually included even though it is aired on FX (UK), another channel. [107]. In addition, the placement of commercial breaks follows the UK format, with one break midway through the show rather than several short breaks at various points. When The Daily Show is on hiatus, either reruns or alternative content are aired.
The Daily Show is aired on Australian pay TV channel The Comedy Channel. Free-to-air digital channel ABC2 began airing the show without commercial breaks in March 2010; after airing, episodes are available on the station's online service.[108] Both channels air the show together with The Colbert Report, and both air the Global Edition on Mondays and the regular edition Tuesday through Friday.
In Portugal it airs with no commercial breaks. Denmark airs both the regular and Global Edition of the show with no commercial breaks.

The Colbert Report details information on all 2010 episodes of The Colbert Report, a Comedy Central show hosted by Stephen Colbert. Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (often abbreviated to Law & Order: SVU) is an American police procedural television drama series set in New York City, where it is also primarily produced. The Bad Girls Club is a reality television program that has been on the Oxygen Network since December 2006. The show was created by Jonathan Murray and is produced by Bunim/Murray Productions (the same company that produces the reality series The Real World). The show's premise follows seven women with a number of personal, behavioral, and psychological problems — deemed "bad girls" — as they live together for four months. Jimmy decides to deliver one of those mafia threats, that isn't a threat, but really is a threat to Maureen Ashby (Paula Malcomson). He demands that she convince Fr. Ashby to return Abel to "his Da." He also tells Maureen that a war is coming in the Irish Army and that she had better choose her side wisely. When Maureen tells Kellan of the threat, our Army priest states that Jimmy is nothing more than a thug. He also tells Maureen that it's time for her to tell Gemma that Abel is in Belfast. Why? To use SAMCRO to take down Jimmy. Did anyone else's blood boil when they heard Abel would be used as bait to manipulate the Charming Charter? Does the "Real" Irish Republican Army have any shame? It doesn't seem so.

Clay's arthritis came back up again. It's been somewhat in the periphery, but in "Home" we got a close up of Clay's hand right after the opening theme song. Once again, we see that Clay is losing even more control over the club he so diligently built.

Clay, Jax and Gemma are finally reunited. As Clay and Gemma hugged, we caught a brief insert of Tig (Kim Coates) standing watching in the background. It was a callback to Season 2 and Gemma's momentary indiscretion with Tig after she was raped.

Tara (Maggie Siff) and Jax's reunion wasn't so heartwarming. Tara just says "hey" nonchalantly when Jax arrives as if nothing happened. Jax tells Tara the truth about the hunt for Abel causing the SAMCRO to miss their court hearing. When Tara asks Tara right afterwards about the Caretaker, Tara lies to Jax - telling him that the Caretaker went back to Guatemala. This scene leads into the next emotional explosion from Jax.

"He's (Abel) mine too," Tara says to Jax. "I want to be with my family."

"We're not your family," Jax responds in anger.

Hunnam's emotional portrayal of Jax has become more resonant since Season 2, during the beef with Clay. Now, with Jax's son kidnapped, Hunnam has had a chance to embrace a broader range of emotions. And, he continues to best each performance with every episode. This is one actor who has made it his job to continue to grow into the role.

There were several comedic moments in "Home." After Tara reveals to Jax that she and Gemma killed the Caretaker, Jax tells Clay, "Apparently our lovely ladies wacked the caretaker." Jax then looked at Tig and said, "And, this idiot helped them." Tig ever so casually replies, "I just made a phone call." The dark comedy came through in leaps and bounds in this scene, which demanded to be watched more than once. Hopefully, you got it on DVR. If not, wait for the Blu-ray/DVD.

A detailed breakdown of the pilot written by Thomas was released on March 17, containing information on the plot and characters which would be in the series. None of the characters were related to the original series; however, the series' featured a similar premise: a family with two teenagers who recently moved from the Midwest to Beverly Hills. To reflect the situation at the Beverly Hills school, where around 40 percent of the students were of Persian descent, a student named Navid Shirazi was created. Thomas intended to introduce The Peach Pit, the diner from Beverly Hills, 90210, but noted that it would not be featured in the pilot. The writer considered giving the siblings a job at a movie theater, as he did not want them to use their parents' credit cards. Thomas revealed that there were plans to reintroduce one of the original cast members, but had not met with any of them to discuss a role. Thomas later elaborated the producers wanted to see "as many of the original cast members as possible", but were careful not to "parade them all out in the pilot".

On April 14, Thomas announced that he was leaving the series to focus on his two pilots for ABC. Gabe Sachs and Jeff Judah were hired as the new executive producers and wrote a new version of the script in late April. Sachs said that although Thomas had a "great script", their version of the script was edgier. Judah said that they were trying to ground their script in reality, with real character stories and emotional stories. The writers wanted the audience to relate to the characters' problems, which they wanted to be truthful and emotional, but also comedic. The pair were interested in telling several stories simultaneously, featuring many characters.[1] The pair changed the surname of the main family from Mills to Wilson, along with changing the name of the mother from Celia to Debbie. The pair also told reporters that they would be adding their "comedic impulses" to the script.[2] Sachs and Judah found the parents to be an important part of the series, and designed to be contemporary parents.[1] Since the producers were both fathers, they designed the script to include more prominent adult story lines and a strong point of view on parenting. Judah was interested in focusing on how the family kept their moral center when moving to Beverly Hills, and the way the parents dealt with their teenagers.[3] On May 11, one day before The CW's upfront presentations, the network officially picked up the series for the 2008–2009 television season.[4]

After disagreeing with the network executives over the series' storylines, Sachs and Judah resigned as writers. The CW wanted the series to have a female perspective and focus more on money and glamour; however, Judah and Sachs were more comfortable writing for men. Instead, Judah began working on postproduction, including editing and music supervision, while Sachs ran the production on set. The CW hired Rebecca Rand Sinclair to retool the series as head writer.[5] In late February 2009, Sinclair signed a seven-figure deal with the producers to serve as executive producer/showrunner for the series' second and third seasons.[6]

On February 16, 2010 The CW renewed the show for a third season.[7] It was also moved to Mondays at 8/7c.

Glee is a musical comedy-drama television series that airs on Fox in the United States. It focuses on a high school show choir (a modern glee club) called "New Directions", at the fictional William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio. The pilot episode of the show was broadcast after American Idol on May 19, 2009, and the first season began airing on September 9, 2009. On September 21, 2009, Fox officially gave the series a full-season pick-up. Glee aired its mid-season finale on December 9, 2009 and returned from a four-month hiatus on April 13, 2010, picking up the remaining nine episodes of the season. The spring premiere had an estimated 13.7 million viewers, nearly doubling in followers on its return. It was renewed for a second season, which began on September 21, 2010, and featured three new cast members.[1] On May 23, 2010, it was announced that Glee had been picked up for a third season.[2]

The show's creators, Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, first conceived Glee as a film. Murphy selects the series' music, aiming to maintain a balance between show tunes and chart hits. Inspired by the idea "let's write about our friends and the stupid stuff we did in New York,"[3] How I Met Your Mother is Bays' and Thomas' idea. The two drew from their friendship in creating the characters, with Ted based loosely on Bays, and Marshall and Lily based loosely on Thomas and his wife.[4][5] Thomas' wife Rebecca was initially reluctant to have a character based on her, but agreed if they could get Alyson Hannigan to play her. Fortunately, Hannigan was available, and was looking to do more comedy work.[4]

The bar "MacLaren's", in which some of the show is set, is based on a bar in New York City called McGee's.[6] It has a mural that Carter Bays and Craig Thomas both liked and wanted to incorporate into the show.[7] The name for the bar is from Carter Bays' assistant Carl MacLaren; the bartender in the show is also called Carl.[8]

Usually each episode is shot over three days, where most other sitcoms are typically shot in a single day, and features upwards of 50 scenes an episode with quick transitions. The show uses a laugh track and flashbacks are frequently featured in the story. The laugh track is later created by recording an audience being shown the final edited episode. Due to the larger scope of the show, co-creator Thomas claims that shooting in front of a live audience would be impossible, and doing so "would blur the line between 'audience' and 'hostage situation'".[9] Later seasons were filmed in front of an audience on occasion when smaller sets are used.

The theme song is a portion of "Hey Beautiful" by The Solids, of which Bays and Thomas are members. Episodes from the first season generally started with the opening credits. A cold opening has been used since season two. Viewers then occasionally see Ted's children on a couch and hear him talking to them, telling the story of how he met their mother. Alternatively, scenes from previous shows or shots of New York City with Ted narrating over the top are shown. Thomas has explicitly said that Future Ted is an unreliable narrator since he is trying to tell a story that happened over 20 years earlier, and therefore tends to recall events incorrectly.[10] A scene directly relating to the identity of the mother, involving Ted's future children, was filmed near the beginning of season two for the show's eventual series finale.[11] This was primarily done because the teenage actors portraying them will be adults by the time the final season is shot.[12]

During the 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike, How I Met Your Mother shut down production, but once the strike ended the show returned on March 17, 2008, with nine new episodes.[13] A change in timeslot was also announced, to 8:30 ET/7:30 CT, flip-flopping from the summer schedule with The Big Bang Theory.[14] The show was renewed for a fourth season by CBS on May 14, 2008,[15] which premiered on September 22, 2008.[16]
