Due to the high popularity of the One Piece manga, Toei Animation produced an anime television series based on the manga chapters. The series, also titled One Piece, premiered in Japan on Fuji Television on October 20, 1999. Since then, the still ongoing series has aired more than four hundred fifty episodes and it has been exported to various countries around the world.

In 2004, 4Kids Entertainment began production on an English language release of One Piece. They sub-licensed home video distribution with Viz Media. 4Kids' dub was heavily edited for content and length, reducing the first 143 episodes to 104. Sanji's cigarettes, for example, were turned into lollipops, and "the skin of a black pirate was changed to a tan mulatto / white color." The series premiered in the United States on September 18, 2004 on the Fox network as part of the Fox Box block, and later aired on the Cartoon Network in the Toonami block in April 2005. However, 4Kids released a statement in December 2006 confirming that they have canceled production of their dubbed version. In July 2010, an interview was conducted between Anime News Network and Mark Kirk, the Vice President of Digital Media for 4Kids Entertainment. In this interview, Kirk explained that 4Kids acquired One Piece as part of a package deal with other animes, and that the company did not actually watch much--if any--of the series before acquiring it. Kirk stated that once it became clear to the company how One Piece would not work with their intended demographic, they decided to edit it into a more kid-friendly show until they had an opportunity to legally drop the license. In his words, the experience "ruined [the] company's reputation." Kirk elaborated that ever since that incident, they have established a more strict set of guidelines, checks, and balances to determine what anime the company acquires.

In April 2007, Funimation Entertainment acquired the license from 4Kids. After producing a new English voice dub, the company released its first unedited, bilingual DVD box set, containing 13 episodes, on May 27, 2008. Similarly sized sets followed with twelve sets released as of July 6, 2010. The Funimation dubbed episodes premiered on the Cartoon Network on September 29, 2007 and aired until its cancellation on March 22, 2008. The remainder of Funimation's dubbed episodes continued being aired on Australia's Cartoon Network, and then shifted into reruns of the Funimation dub before being replaced by Total Drama Island. Funimation, Toei Animation, Shueisha, and Fuji TV released a statement in May 2009 confirming that they would simulcast stream the series within an hour of the weekly Japanese broadcast. This free, English-subtitled simulcast is available at www.onepieceofficial.com. Originally scheduled to begin on May 30, 2009 with episode 403, a lack of security resulted in a leak of the episode. As a result, Funimation delayed the offer until August 29, 2009 at which point it began with a simulcast of episode #415. One Piece episodes are also available for streaming at Hulu.com, in both subtitled and dubbed formats (with the dub being the unedited dub found on the DVD releases).

Katy Perry is going to be a beautiful bride, there is no doubt about it. And it seems as though her marriage to Russell Brand will happen any day now.

The two have already celebrated their bachelor/ bachelorette parties, and rumors of an October wedding have surrounded the couple for months.

So here is what we know, and of course as we learn more and Katy Perry wedding pictures come out we will certainly update.

Katy and Russell are rumored to have planned their wedding in India, where last December they tweeted pictures when they became engaged. However, new reports insist that the location is now Maui, Hawaii.

As far as her wedding dress, well she has spoken about her fantasies. She told In Style that she has dreamt of an all Chanel wedding wardrobe (Um, who hasn't!), but may go with the sentimental side, Galliano. Their first date was to a Galliano show in Paris. Though the decision is unknown, Katy did say this,

"We have been talking to him. I want my dress to be ornate and detailed and cinched and beautiful."

As for their bachelor/bachelorette parties, the two have celebrated and lived to tweet the tale. Both Katy and Russell took to their twitter pages to talk about their extravagant parties. Katy celebrated a few weeks ago in Las Vegas with best pal Rihanna, where she was seen partying it up at the Hard Rock and MGM Grand where she saw the Cirque de Soleil show "Ka."

Perry got her drink on with some champagne, beer and vodka, and was also spotted at a strip club where she traded moves with some female dancers. She later tweeted, "Signing up for a liver transplant now…"

Russell on the other hand was quite tame and rather civilized. Hew was joined by close friends Nik Linnen, Noel Gallagher, David Williams, and Carl Barat.

They started off on Saturday morning at The Grove Hotel in Hertfordshire, from which the boys took a bus to Upton Park to watch West Ham United beat London club.

They then ate at chef Gordon Ramsay's York & Albany, later ending the night at Peter Stringfellow's legendary strip club in London's Soho district.

Russell tweeted this picture of him being carried on two men's shoulders. It looks like they both enjoyed themselves!

After Tuesday night's screening of Kanye West's hotly anticipated 35-minute long film "Runaway," it was clear his hometown audience are ready to embrace the new Kanye.

"We are honest fans and not the first to forgive," Nem Perez told MTV News. "Everyone was doubting, but he is a person, and this brought him back to reality. The music was amazing."

West not only wanted to share his vision, but inspire others to do the same. He took questions after the show and urged his fans to make a difference.

"Being from Chicago, there is so much we can do," West said. "Because they don't see us coming."

"He is helping the culture," Jasmine Robinson said. "He says, 'Don't put me in a box,' and that is how we all feel. You need to elevate your mind. His mother had a lot to do with it; she was not afraid to share it."

Audiences also appreciated a return to rich musical storytelling that connects artists to their fans.

"We are so used to short viral videos that it was cool to see something that held the audience for more than three minutes," John Seyforth said.

"It was beautiful and powerful. The imagery was amazing," Thomas William said. "His music brings you closer to his world and connects you to it."

The overall sentiment was clear: Kanye is here to stay.

"Kanye will be relevant, guaranteed," Esko said. "This is the first time he seems happy with what he is doing. He is saying, 'All the stuff is behind me.' Whether you like it or not, his music will be here."

"He is a musical genius, and we are proud he is from Chicago," Ricia Chandler said.

The Uribe homer would send a team featuring players such as Cody "Babe" Ross (awarded the NLCS MVP), and Brian Wilson--a reliever who dyes his beard black and makes quirky seem uptight--into the World Series to face the Yankees. Er, make that the Texas Rangers, who will be making their first appearance in the Fall Classic. The Giants? They'll be trying to win their first title since 1954, when they played in the Polo Grounds of New York City.

There will be plenty of time to preview a World Series matchup that Fox-TV did not want to see. And there will be plenty of time in the days and weeks to come for the Phillies to analyze what went wrong, and what to do about certain roster spots (and salary decisions) that they will soon be facing.

As for the game, itself, it appeared to all that the Phillies might be ready to put a whooping on the Giants, who brought a talented but shaky lefty Jonathan Sanchez to the mound. The Phillies promptly rode a walk, three hits and a sacrifice fly to take a 2-0 lead in the first. In retrospect, it could have been more, but a 2-0 lead with Roy Oswalt on the mound and a crazed crowd imploring it to the finish line seemed like it would be enough at the time.

After SF tied the game in the top of the third, the Phillies had ample opportunity to take the lead back in the bottom of the inning. Sanchez gave Placido Polanco a free pass before plunking Utley in the upper back to put the first two runners on. What followed immediately after was a mixture of the bizarre and the all-too-familiar for Phillies fans.

Utley,on his way to first, scooped up the ball that had bounced off his back, and gave it an underhand lob in the general vicinity of a frustrated Sanchez, who was nearing an implosion. Words were exchanged by the two, and sooner or later there was a bench-clearing something or other that featured the usual posturing.

When order was restored, Bochy turned to his bullpen, which turned out to be a masterful move. In came lefty reliever Jeremy Affeldt who promptly fanned Ryan Howard, got Jayson Werth on a short fly to center, and retired Victorino on a weak grounder to first. Momentum shift back to the Giants.

On the other side of the hill, starter Ry Oswalt was not as dominant as he had been in Game Two, but yielded only two runs (just one was earned) on nine hits and no walks in his six innings of solid work. Usually, that would be enough to earn a victory with his new team, a team that boasted one of the best offenses in baseball the last several years.

Looks more like a TV film, than something aimed at a theatrical release… But My Girlfriend's boyfriend still looks like a movie that could be somewhat interesting… Any idea who's she gonna chose at the end? Or is she going to adhere to polyandry?

The story follows a waitress (Milano) who meets the perfect, albeit awkward guy (Christopher Gorham from Ugly Betty and Popular!), and shortly thereafter, also finds another charming "Mr. Right" (Michael Landes). Instead of choosing between the two, she decides to date them both without the other knowing.
The trailer has its share of cliched moments (the embarrassing car splash, the desperate rom-com sprint), and I think we can guess where it's all headed — I mean, Mr. Right is just too good to be true, right? Still, I can totally see myself checking it out with a couple friends or at least renting it later. The release date is set for April 22, but tell me what you think of the preview when you read more.

DESCRIPTION: Five friends break into a closed corn maze in the middle of the night and decide to play a harmless game of tag. Little do they know that a psychopathic killer has decided to play along. As they wander aimlessly through the maze the murderer follows closely behind, taunting them and watching their every move. The game turns deadly when the kids decide to separate and weaken their chances of survival. When the mutilated body of the maze owner is found they realize that something is terribly wrong. As they race to find the entrance of the maze, the murderer cleverly forces them to follow the path that he wants. Manipulating everyone to his vicious will, the killer taunts his victims and leads them further into the depths of the maze. After succumbing to hours of torture will anyone make it out of the maze…alive?

The Maze is a film from second time director Steve Shimek (Dragon Hunter) and writers Katy Baldwin and Timothy Gutierrez. The film is moving to DVD October 19th through Monarch Home Video and the film puts "five friends...into a corn maze," (Monarch) where a killer wants to play a game of hide and seek with knives. The film is sheer aMAZEment and horror fans will appreciate the many gory deaths and the slow reveal of the killer, who plays both sides of the law.

The film begins on a dare, as a group of friends challenge each other to enter an abandoned corn maze. A game of tag ensues and soon one addition to the game brings much brutal death via hack and slash, decapitations, strangulation, and a Mexican necktie. One woman goes face with this lunatic and comes out as only a partial winner, with most characters moving into the black unknown.

The tension is well built with music and the mysterious nature of the killer; also, when the action gets under way the stalkings and killings are brutal in nature. Mature in tone, The Maze is a good blend of mystery, suspense, and action, with the natural setting of a farm providing good cover for many murderous misdeeds. Violent and tense, this is one film for fans of independent horror who require both illicit and explicit action.

As well, the dual nature of the killer, who is masked for the first half of the film, shows complexity, but his motivations are never fully revealed. Only slightly disappointing for not adding complexity to the antagonist, The Maze keeps the pacing strong and the character reveals interesting. The ending is somewhat inconclusive, as the heroine's fate is not completely shown, but her fate is up to the viewer. However, the killer's end is much more graphic and worthy of the final confrontation.

The film was completed by Ground Glass Entertainment and The Maze is excellent in writing and production, with few pitfalls along the way. The film will have an initial sale value of $24.95 on DVD through Monarch and the film definitely has rewatchability, with the runtime of ninety minutes moving by at an extraordinary clip. Recommended and enjoyed by this reviewer, The Maze will be available for fans with a pre-order date of September 27th.

When Harvey Met Bob tells the story of the extraordinary relationship between Bob Geldof and promoter Harvey Goldsmith, as they brought about the historic Live Aid event 25 years ago. The feature stars Domhnall Gleeson as Bob Geldof and Ian Hart as Harvey Goldsmith.

Written by Joe Dunlop, When Harvey Met Bob is directed by Nick Renton and produced by Catherine Magee. The executive producers are Robert Cooper and Kate Triggs for Great Meadow Productions. Tony Cranston completed the Offline at Screen Scene, while Niall Brady, Kiara Murphy and Ken Galvin took care of the sound edit and mix. Angela Mclellan graded the project and Oleg Jitov completed Online.

The feature is a co-production between RTÉ and BBC. Jane Gogan, Commissioning Editor, Drama, RTÉ Television, said: 'Co-production is high on the list of priorities for RTÉ Drama. When Harvey Met Bob was a good opportunity to join forces with Great Meadow and BBC and bring inward investment to the television production sector with a story of mutual interest to both audiences. Now a significant part of RTÉ drama's strategy, other co-productions include last year's Father and Son with ITV, and also with ITV, a six part series of Single-Handed which airs this autumn. This strategy enables us to maximise the volume of high-quality drama we produce as cost-efficiently as possible, while guaranteeing resonant and relevant drama for our viewers, which is the main point of what we do.'

In October 1984 Bob Geldof arrived home to find his wife, Paula, watching the legendary BBC broadcast by Michael Buerk from the feeding camps in Eritrea province. Bob takes his eyes from the screen only once to see Paula holding their baby and weeping.

Deeply affected, Bob moves into action. First he persuades a host of rock stars to give their name and talent for free to the Band Aid record - Do They Know It's Christmas? - which sells millions of copies. But when he goes to Ethiopia to ensure the proceeds from the record will reach the starving people, he realises that so much more needs to be done. He needs to raise even more money to fulfill his promise that every penny from the record will get there. It is at this point that he conceives the idea of a global music event to feed the world.

Enter Harvey Goldsmith, the famous and well respected music promoter. This is the start of the roller-coaster ride that is the humorous, warm, tension filled and ultimately deeply moving story of the relationship between the odd couple as they go from a mad-cap idea and a list of unconfirmed acts, to the biggest televised international charity event in history.

The film begins with Bob Geldof arriving home to his wife Paula Yates and watching the legendary BBC broadcast from the feeding camps in Eritrea province. The famous report by BBC journalist, Michael Buerk, is what prompted Geldof to take action.

The rest of the film explains how exactly Geldof and music promoter Harvey Goldsmith launched "Band Aid" and went on to host a series of record breaking global live concerts called "Live Aid".

It was commissioned by Janice Hadlow Controller of BBC Two and Ben Stephenson, Controller of BBC Drama Commissioning. Hadlow said "To mark the 25th anniversary of Live Aid, BBC Two celebrates with an ambitious single drama which tells the story behind the biggest televised international charity event in history and the two inspiring men that made it happen."

The Girl centers on a young Texan mother (Cornish) who starts smuggling immigrants across the border from Mexico. When things go wrong, she has to travel across Mexico with the titular eight year old orphan.

The Girl is currently in pre-production, with an aim to shop the film around to various film studios at the American Film Market in November.

After truly launching onto the scene with last year's stunningly beautiful film, BRIGHT STAR, it looks as though actress Abbie Cornish has become quite a hot commodity amongst Hollywood executives. According to Screen Daily, the actress has signed on to star in the upcoming film THE GIRL, which will be helmed by David Riker. The film originally had Emily Blunt in the lead role, but apparently it's Cornish who has won the role.

The film will follow a Texan mother who begins smuggling immigrants over the border, which is where Cornish will fall in. Personally, I love Cornish as an actress, so any time we get another role for her, it's a great day for the planet.

In other casting news, Alexandra Daddario has joined the cast of THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO. The actress is best known for her role in the recent TV hit White Collar, and this is definitely one hell of a step forward for the thespian. The film, currently shooting under the watchful eye of David Fincher, is set to release come December 21, 2011.

Finally, a trio of actors, including David Krumhotlz, Clark Gregg, and James Tupper, have joined the upcoming adaptation of the beloved children's book, Mr. Popper's Penguins. The film is set to star Jim Carrey and Carla Gugino, and definitely just got a little more interesting. Personally, I really dig all three of the actors involved here, particularly Gregg, whose work on IRON MAN 2 is one of the real shining spots of that fun, but ultimately forgettable film.

He is called in to help the NYPD solve a copy-cat murder based on one of his novels. Stana Katic co-stars as Detective Kate Beckett. Castle, who becomes interested in Beckett as a potential character for a new book series, uses his connections at the mayor's office and receives permission to continue accompanying Beckett while investigating cases. Castle decides to use Beckett as the model for the main character of his next book series starring "Nikki Heat". Beckett, an avid reader of Castle's books, initially disapproves of having Castle shadow her on her cases, but later warms up and recognizes Castle as a useful resource in solving crimes. Castle is a blend of drama, comedy, and romantic tension.
